About Letteropolis

Created by readers and writers.

Letteropolis is a place where stories and articles live and nurture minds.

Why we exist

A city built of letters

Every good book began with someone who loved to read. Letteropolis was made by people on both sides of the page. Readers who wanted a place to find their next favourite story, and writers who wanted their work to be read, without being bothered by an algorithm.

So we built a home for words. Serialized novels can grow here one chapter at a time. Essays and articles can find the readers who need them. Timeless public-domain classics sit on the same shelves as the newest original work.

We believe reading is how minds grow. Quietly, one page at a time, and that writing is how we share what we have learned. Letteropolis exists to give both the room they deserve.

“Every reader is a writer in waiting, and every writer is, first of all, a reader.”

What you can do here

Everything a story needs to find its reader

From the first draft to the thousandth reader, Letteropolis gives writing a place to live and readers a place to linger.

  • Stories, chapter by chapter

Follow serialized fiction as it unfolds, or binge a completed novel. Every chapter has a distraction-free reader with adjustable type.

  • Articles and essays

Thoughtful non-fiction — personal essays, explainers, criticism and craft notes — from writers who care about the subject.

  • Series and the classics

Group related works into series, and discover timeless public-domain books alongside new original writing.

  • Follow your writers

Follow the voices you love and get notified when they publish.

  • Bookmarks, public or private

Save anything to read later and build a shelf you can share — or keep entirely to yourself.

  • Conversation in the margins

Leave comments on stories, chapters and articles. Writers hear from readers directly, and readers find each other.

  • Find exactly what you want

Search and filter by tags, content rating, language and completion status, so the next great read is never far away.

  • Read your way

Choose from a set of hand-crafted reading themes, day or night, and follow writers through RSS if that is how you read.

What we stand for

Our principles

The promises we make to everyone who reads or writes here, and the standard we hold ourselves to when we build.

  1. Writers own their work

You keep the copyright to everything you publish. We only ask for the permission we need to show it to readers, and we never sell it.

  2. Reader-first, always

No ads, no clickbait, no dark patterns. Pages are designed for long, comfortable reading, and your attention belongs to the words.

  3. A respectful community

Honest content ratings, clear guidelines, and real moderation. Critique the work, respect the person.

  4. Privacy by default

We collect only what we need to run the site, don't track you across the web, and give you real controls over your data.
