Chapter II: Introduction: To the Eighth Edition

Text size

The following Eighth Edition of _The Journal of George Fox_, taken from the Seventh Edition, as prepared by the late Wilson Armistead, of Leeds, has been carefully read and collated with the original or First Edition of that Work. And the reader can be confidently assured, making due allowance for the translation or omission of a few obsolete expressions, that the Work is now, in truth and substance, _the same_ as when it was first printed. A large number of corrections in the spelling of names, and of other chiefly clerical errors, have also been made, bringing all down, so far as practicable, into harmony with the usage of the present date in these respects.
