Stanza 1. _Skinfaxe_, the shining steed of _Dag_, day.

3. _vingade hästen_, the ship.

10. _rista geirs-odd_, to take one's own life by wounding oneself with a lance.

13. _blodiga drotter_, bloody deeds of achievement.

13. _ätthögens dotter_, the peace that awaits him in another world.

14. _gjallarhorn_, the trumpet of Heimdall, the sentry of the gods. _Gjallarhornet_ can be heard to the remotest part of the world. Upon it Heimdall would blow one terrific blast to summon the gods to the final conflict in Ragnarök.
