Osnaburg or Osnabrueck, Hanover. On 27 Feb. 1764, Prince Frederick, afterwards Duke of York and Albany, was elected to the bishopric of Osnaburg which he retained till 1803, when the bishopric was secularised and incorporated with Hanover.
