FANCY PATTERNS FOR KNITTING.

No. 45—_Fancy Pattern_.—The number of stitches to be cast on must be determined by the width of the work, and must also be divisible by 10. Knit in rows, to and fro, as follows:

4th row.—Slip 1, 3 plain. Work 3 times: 2 together plain, make 2, 2 together plain in twist stitch. Then 4 plain. In the last stitch make 1 plain, 1 purl.

6th row.—Slip 1, 5 plain. Work twice as follows: 2 together plain, make 2, 2 together plain in twist stitch. Then 7 plain. In the last stitch knit 1 plain, 1 purl.
