Chapter XX: Book IV: “em”

_“I saw a little girl in tears, said the moon; she was crying over
the wickedness of the world. A most beautiful doll had been given
her as a present. Indeed it was a splendid doll, so fair and so
fragile! Apparently it was not created to stand the rough wear and
tear of this world. The brothers of the little girl, however, great
mischievous boys, had fixed the doll high up in the branches of a
tree and then run away. As the little girl could not reach her doll
and take it down, she began to cry. Evidently the doll was crying
too, for it stretched out its arms amidst the green leaves, and
looked quite sad. Yes, yes, the little girl experienced some of the
troubles of this world....”_
