Chapter XXII
Text size
O Brother hear! Be deaf no more, to Love:
Thy heart now open to its Core, to Love!
Hast thou in Pride, all vain, upraised thy Head?
Come bend it now down to the Floor, to Love.
In Dust thou shalt new living Grace receive,
As Spring awakes the Landscape frore, to Love.
And once thou hast put on Love's Leaves and Flowers,
Comes golden Fruit in Autumn hoar, to Love.
And when thou fadest sere, then burn thyself;
And give thy Ashes, all Earth bore, to Love.
And wing'd, from Ashes wilt thou fairer rise;
And with Love's highest Message soar, to Love.
