Two numbers coming together in an inverted order in English, are translated by placing the highest in the first place; thus,

_Eleven hundred_, _fifteen hundred_, and the like expressions, are always translated, one thousand one hundred, one thousand five hundred, &c.; thus, _mil y ciento_, _mil y quinientos_, and not _once cientos_, &c.

The words _o’clock_ are omitted in reference to the hours of the day, which are expressed by the cardinal numbers, preceded by the article _las_ or _la_ with reference to _una_, one; as,

The cardinal numbers are used instead of the ordinal in speaking of the days of the month, excepting the first; as,
