"The Book of the Homeless (Le livre des sans-foyer)" by Edith Wharton et al. is a collection published in 1916. This extraordinary anthology brings together essays, poetry, art, and musical scores from some of the era's most celebrated writers and artists. Created during World War I, the collection served a humanitarian purpose: all proceeds funded civilians displaced by the war. Contributors include Joseph Conrad, Thomas Hardy, Henry James, W. B. Yeats, and Igor Stravinsky, among many others.
