All Entertainments booked at Harrods are subject to the following conditions:--

1. No Entertainment booked can be cancelled or postponed unless half the fee agreed upon be paid.

2. If postponed, the same Entertainment may be had within three months at the remaining half fee, plus travelling expenses, provided it can be arranged for at the time decided upon.

3. Travelling expenses are charged extra (to and from Harrods) except when otherwise agreed upon at the time of booking.

Hire, Ball, Rout & Fête Furnishing Department.

HARRODS undertake and carry out contracts in any part of the United Kingdom for Public Ceremonies, Decorating Public Buildings, Erection of Triumphal Arches, Street Decorations, Public Illuminations, Fireworks, etc., for National Rejoicings. Also for all kinds of Entertainments, Bands, etc. The Erection of Pavilions of any required size for Public Receptions, Weddings, Dances, Suppers, Laying Foundations, etc.

ESTIMATES.

A representative will be sent to give quotations, offer suggestions, and make arrangements free of charge within ten miles of London; beyond that distance on payment of return railway fare, allowable if estimate be accepted.

GENERAL HIRE DEPARTMENT.

SUPPLY CUTLERY, PLATE, CHINA, GLASS, TABLING, etc., etc., ON HIRE, SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:--

No. 1.--Immediately upon delivery of goods the Customer becomes
responsible for any loss or damage until they are again
taken charge of by one of Harrods’ assistants.

No. 2.--That the accompanying Lists of Prices are fixed for one
day’s Hire, the Goods being delivered on the day required
for use and re-collected the day following. If the
articles are to be re-collected the same day after use
(necessitating special collection), an extra charge will be
made. Should the Articles not be given up on application,
additional Hiring will be charged.

No. 3.--That the goods may be Hired for any specified period, the
charges being estimated, when the price is not specially
given, in the following manner, viz.:--
One day, as indicated in List.
Two days, as one and a half days.
One week, as twice one day.
Two weeks, as three times one day.
Three weeks, as three and a half times one day.
One month, as four times one day.

No. 4.--That when Goods are conveyed by other than Harrods’ vans the
Customer is responsible for any loss or damage during
transit.

No. 5.--That when Goods are Hired for a term exceeding one week,
Notice must be given to the Hire Department at least two
days before the Goods are to be removed, otherwise
Customers are responsible for such goods, and also for
Hire for such time as they may be detained.

No. 6.--All Men servants engaged from Harrods are considered
as servants of the Hirer, and the firm do not hold
themselves responsible for any breakage or loss while
these are in the Hirer’s employ.

No. 7.--Goods on Hire are not delivered free beyond our Town
delivery, excepting small parcels, which will be sent free
within our Suburban delivery, but an extra charge will be
made for the delivery of bulky Goods. Carriage on Hired
Goods sent to the Country will be extra.

Contracts undertaken in any part of the United Kingdom for Decorating Public Buildings, Erecting Triumphal Arches, Illuminating and Decorating Streets, etc.
